"What was that car!!??" thread

Ok, so I thought I'd post up this one...

I've seen from time to time cars that I have no ideas what they are (some look great, some look crap!).

So, let me start with this one... I saw this driving down balgowlah road the other week. The badge is Mercedes, but it looked all wrong. Also, it's cornering was appalling (very wobbly) and I didn't recognise the name/badge on the left hand side (I think it said something like senator or something similar).

Photo isn't that hot, but maybe somebody can tell me what it is? I'm guessing a Chinese ripoff...

I've seen one in the flesh as a hired car - chauffeured and all - looks impressive from a distance in a Lexus-kinda way, but then up close and it's a shocker. Had to gouge out my eyes so get rid of the feeling.

according to redbook was $57k new in 2008 and now, only 3 yrs old only worth only $15 - 17k

The could have based it on a McLaren F1 for all we care, Ssangyong seems to excel in making fugly cars. I remember the designer of the current range was quoted as saying something about the design needs to be bold and different to be seen in today's crowded market. Even my kids complain about them when they see one.

Wow, there's a couple of them on Carsales, going for around $7k-8k. That's some pretty serious depreciation for a $57k vehicle that's less than 10 years old... Check out the interior photos, the stereo even has a tape deck!
